Porcelain 2018
An all india porcelain exhibition organised by Delhi Blue Pottery. It wasthe India Habitat Centre , Lodhi road, Delhi. From the 9th to 15th February, 2018.
36 participants from 4 zones of india participated. The curators for each zone select ted artists who have experience in this very demanding material but also invited artist who are new to porcelain but can take up this creative challenge simple because they have shown innovative abilities. The result was duchy an unexpected, wonderful use of this absolutely fantastic material. Porcelain know for its translucency and purity was presented in all its glory. Rugged textures emphasising it's strenghts, luminous and feather light , rich and pure. So many aspects all presented to be savoured, appreciated and enjoyed. We had several patrons revisiting to discover fresh perspective on ceramics and how we look at this medium of expression.
The organisers had us artist offer workshops of our interests. I presented an explorative session with clay. The participants were in for such suprises. I took them through the journey of exploring clay resonances in the body, ideas we have and hopefully just to simply see the present moment in its totality. It was an attempt to have an unmediated, non ceptual understanding of what is going on , now. With clay it's simpler as the body accepts and recognises as it's self.
